Meantime, the Parliament had yesterday passed the sensational Citizenship Amendment Bill amid strong protests from the opposition. While 125 members voted for the bill, 105 members voted against it. The bill was passed in the Lok Sabha with 311 members favouring it and 80 voting against it. The bill will become a law after the president approves it.
