THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A house in Thiruvananthapuram from where a sex racket was operating was raided by Peroorkkada police on Wednesday. Its proprietor and Vellanadu native Ramesh Kumar took to his heels, giving police the slip. His client and Mali native Phulu (60), a 40-year-old Thiruvananthapuram native woman and a 30-year-old Kochi Marad native woman were picked up by the police in the night.

According to the police, Ramesh Kumar was running the sex racket in a rented house on the way to Kudappanakkunnu A K G Nagar. They were tipped off by locals who grew suspicious about activites going on inside the house, as they used to see luxury cars carrying men and women frequenting the house.

The house was under the surveillance of the police for the past several days. On Wednesday, as soon as Peroorkkada CI got the information that clients had reached the house, he and his team arrived at the spot and surrounded the house.

Sensing trouble Ramesh Kumar jumped the compound wall and escaped from the spot. Women police chased and caught the 40-year-old woman. She is also a partner in the sex business. Mali native Phulu and Marad native woman were nabbed from a room.

The Mali man told the police that he had got in touch with the racket through online.
