KOCHI: Governor Arif Mohammad Khan turned against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s stand that the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) will not be implemented in Kerala. The protests witnessed all over India looks they are politically motivated, he said.

‘The Citizenship Amendment is not aimed at a community. According to the constitution, everyone is responsible to obey the central law. There is no need for a concern with the Citizenship Amendment. The courts are there as protectors on whatever problems people have with political decisions,’ Governor said.

The ruling front and the opposition are staging joint agitations against CAB. It will be held at the Martyrs Column Monday morning at 10 am.

The chief minister had earlier stated that no one should think that the CAB can be implemented in Kerala. The law will only help to make communal discrimination and nobody should think that anything can be done in the name of law, the chief minister said.
