THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Six persons have lost their lives in accidents that happened in Alappuzha, Tripunithura and Kasargod.
Sunil (21) and Jagadheesh (22), natives of Kasargod died after Karnataka State Transport Corporation’s bus collided with a bike at Kunchathur tenth mile in Manjeswaram. The accident happened when the bike tried to overtake the bus. When Sunil died on the spot, Jagadheesh died on way to the hospital.
The other two accidents happened at Kalappura Junction in Alappuzha on the national highway and at Irumbanam near Tripunithura. A bike hit the back side of the lorry at Kalappura Junction in Alappuzha. Following the accident, two motorists died. One of the person has been identified as Ajith Babu. The bike hit the lorry when it applied a sudden brake.
A car collided with a tanker lorry at Irumbanam in Tripunithura. Shaila and her mother Bilkis, natives of Thodupuzha, were the two dead. Shaila’s husband Haseef, who was on the driver’s seat, sustained serious injuries and has been admitted at the hospital.
