PATNA: A woman who was set ablaze after a failed rape attempt last week in Bihar's Muzaffarpur succumbed to her burn injuries Monday night.
However, the victim was later shifted to Apollo Barn Hospital in Patna on December 10 after her condition deteriorated.
The victim had suffered 90 per cent burns when she was admitted to Shri Krishna Medical College and Hospital in Muzaffarpur.
The incident reportedly took place on December 7 afternoon when the victim was alone in her house in Nazirpur locality under Ahaiyapur police station. Upon finding the victim alone in the house, Raja Rai, the accused tried to rape her and when he failed, he set her on fire.
