Lakshmi Ammalu and Kochaniyan Chettan are all set to start a new life in New Year. You might ask what is so special in their bonding. The two are inmates of an old age home at Ramavarmapuram in Thrissur. They will be tying the knot on December 30. John Daniel, standing committee chairman of Thrissur Corporation is sharing the long awaited story of 67-year-old Kochaniyan Chettan and 66-year-old Lakshmi Ammalu, via a Facebook post.

The two are getting married and all are invited. After taking charge as the welfare standing committee chairman of Thrissur Corporation, I was able to work more closely with the old age home in Ramavarmapuram. The superintendent of the old age home run by the government brought to my notice the lives of the two. The two were deserted by their own children. Kochaniyan Chettan was the helper of G K Krishna Iyer, husband of Lakshmi Ammal. After the death of Iyer, Kochaniyan Chettan left the place and Lakshmi Ammal reached the old age home. Kochaniyan Chettan finally reached Ramavarmapuram.
