THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the hartal held on Tuesday in protest against the Centre’s Citizens Rights Bill, hartal supporters had stoned and damaged 18 KSRTC buses. The damage of window shields has been estimated to have incurred a loss of Rs 2,16,000.

KSRTC will again loss Rs 25 lakh as the above buses will not be able to conduct service for the next two days. Out of the 18 damaged buses, 13 are ordinary buses.

The window panes of four Fast Passenger, Super Fast and Minnal buses were destroyed. The cost for repairing the glass panes of one bus is Rs 12,000.

The loss in Tuesday’s income due to suspension of services in certain areas is lakhs of rupees.
