KOZHIKODE: Police have taken into custody a girl who hooted at a BJP demonstration in favour of Citizenship Rights Amendment Act. The girl’s gesture was in protest against the BJP rally that was held here on Saturday. She was taken into custody from Kidson Corner. According to reports, the girl has been moved to Town police station.

It is not yet clear whether case has been registered against the girl. ABVP had held rallies in different parts of the State in support of Citizenship Rights Amendment Act during the day. However, protests by the Congress and other fringe outfits against the Act are going on in different parts of the country.

Meanwhile, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced that processes related to National Register of Citizens (NRC) will not be started without considering the apprehension of the people.
