THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: No one need to panic on the Citizenship Amendment Act, said BJP leader Kummanam Rajashekaran. The strike will not last long and there is no logic or justification for it. The protestors will be isolated, he said. The party will make the public aware of the law, said former chief of the party.
‘The centre is not ready to deal with those who commit violence and extortion. The party watched everything and faced it peacefully. Widespread awareness drives will be taken to prevent false propaganda. Action plans have been formulated for this. Thousands of meetings will be convened all over India. A copy of the law will be given. Truth will be revealed and will change the misunderstanding. Tactics that made the innocent fall into the trap of agitation will be exposed. Awareness programs will be held in constituencies,’ he said in an interview given to a daily.
The present agitations must be seen as part of attempts to mislead the public through false propaganda campaign. The central government is on the side of truth, moral and justice. The government is committed to ensuring social justice and social equity. So one should not panic about the law. The strike will not last long. There is no logic or justification for the strike. It is not correct also and so those protesting will be left alone. The Muslim League is just afraid and they are on the secular side, he said.
