KOCHI: Yuva Morcha had lodged a complaint with the police station against the organisers of People’s long March held on Monday in Kochi against the Citizenship Amendment Act and National Register of Citizens. The complaint has been filed against lining up children below 14 years in the rally and making them shout provocative slogans.

It is Yuva Morcha State Committee member B G Vishnu who has handed over the complaint to Child Rights Commission Chairperson. Vishnu has alleged in the complaint that roping in children for such kind of a protest is unlawful and it is in violation of the instructions of Child Rights Commission that children be not used for illegal needs.

Vishnu has specifically mentioned the names of Chlachithra Academy chairman Kamal, film director Aashiq Abu, against whom action is sought. Monday’s long march had started at around 1 pm from Kallur international stadium and ended at Cochin Shipyard. A bunch of film personalities and socio-cultural leaders had taken part in the march, despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s assurance the other day that the act has nothing to do with citizens of India.
