THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The news of the unexpected death of TV anchor and model Jagee John (45) was received by her fans, friends and relatives on Monday with a big shock. She was found lying dead in her home kitchen with injury on the backside of her head.
As there was no other injury on her body, the police presume that she might have lost conscious suddenly and fallen down with the back side of her head hitting the floor. However, the cause of the death can be confirmed only once the post-mortem report is out. The forensic examination of internal organs are also decisive.
As if she had some gut feeling, Jagee a few days ahead of her death wrote on her Facebook page:
"Christmas is not just a time to self-indulge in your own desires ...
But also sharing ...
Thank you all those who have been so kind to donate cakes ...
29th of December will be the Last date for giving your "Gifts of Love "
Please dont be SELFISH ...
Just because you have loads of things to eat and enjoy ... Doesnt mean you need to be complacent ..
Remember ...Anything can happen to you too ...Anyday ...
I have done my part and Mom and I are giving 50 cakes to those lovely helpless children.
Pls be kind"
“Jagee was found dead in the kitchen she had arranged for the shoot of some cookery programmes. She had kept onion after cutting it, for some cooking. For the past two months she didn’t have any helpers at home… Her mobile phone, e-mails and whatsapp will be examined in detail,” the police said.
On Tuesday, after completing post-mortem and other formalities, the body was handed over to her relatives, who took it to her hometown in Kottarakkara. The relatives also took Jagee’s aged mother along with them. The police locked her Thiruvananthapuram home and sealed it.
Jagee’s male friend had reached Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday. He, who is a body-builder, had talked to her over phone on Sunday noon. Later when he called her she didn’t attend the phone. By Monday noon, he informed Jagee’s doctor friend, who is based in Thiruvananthapuram. When the doctor reached Jagee’s house in Hill Garden at Kuravankonam, the house was locked from inside. The doctor informed Peroorkkada police, who reached the spot and broke open the house.
In the search conducted, they found her body.
Jagee had been living at Kuravankonam for the past many years. She had divorced from her husband seven years ago.
