KOCHI: A Norwegian woman who participated in a protest march in Kochi against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) was asked to leave India immediately. She has been identified as Janne Mette Johansson (74).
The immigration officials directed Johansson to leave India. People reaching the country in tourist visa partaking in protest marches is against visa norms. The officials reached her hotel and demanded her to leave India immediately.
Meantime, she posted in the Facebook that she is on her way to the airport and a friend has booked a ticket to Dubai. Johansson participated in the long march staged in Fort Kochi on Monday.
Jakob Lindenthal, a German post-graduate student of physics at the IIT or Indian Institute of Technology-Madras, flew to Amsterdam after trouble over his participation in anti-citizenship law protests in Chennai. He was asked to leave for violating his visa.
