THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Governor Arif Mohammed Khan sought a report from the DGP on the protests staged at the Indian History Congress. The governor asked the DGP to give a report on the lapses from the side of the organisers and about those who attended the event without invitation. The governor had sought an explanation from Kannur VC soon after the programme.

The governor faced protests for speaking supporting the CAA. The governor had examined the visuals of the protests yesterday itself. A decision has been taken to register a case against the protestors after getting a detailed report.

The opening session of the IHC was spoiled by protests by a section of delegates against the Governor for his comments backing CAA. The protestors raised slogans against the Governor alleging that his address was provocative. As the protests continued, the governor became angry. He said the move would not be silenced and he would not support any law that threatens the constitution. There were widespread protests against the Governor for backing CAA.
