THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Sunday lashed out against Kerala governor Arif Mohammed Khan over the latter's criticism against the anti-CAA protests. According to Kodiyeri, by delivering a political message at the Indian History Congress, the governor has violated the norms that must be practised by someone who is holding a constitutional position.

While criticising the governor for political speech, Kodiyeri added that it would be better if the governor resigns from his position and step into fulltime politics. 'Everyone has the right to exercise political freedom. However, if the governor is unable to understand the limitations of his current position, he should be ready to quit and step into fulltime politics. By justifying the CAA, he is behaving like the BJP leaders. He must realise that the country is witnessing widespread protest against the CAA which intends to divide the citizens along religious lines,' his Facebook post read.
