THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan on Sunday defended his stand regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act. While speaking to the media he said that he is obliged to uphold the Constitution of India.
"I'm obliged to uphold the Constitution of India and I'm willing to go to any extent to protect an act passed by the parliament," he said.
"This is not the first time that I'm being attacked for my statements. I don't intend to propagate the agenda of any political parties. It was Irfan Habib who tried to interupt my speech at the Indian History Congress. I don't have any problem with that as I believe that difference in opinion is also a part of democracy," he added.
