NEW DELHI: Latest report suggests that the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has recommended an increase in the monthly pension limit under Atal Pension Yojana (APY). The PFRDA has also apparently suggested an increase in age limit to join the pension scheme to 60 years.
Currently, the age limit to join the pension scheme is 40 years. The Atal Pension Yojana is a government pension scheme which is meant to provide a pension for employees of the unorganised sector as well as the self-employed. The scheme, which was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2015, is open for people between 18 and 40 years.
