ALAPPUZHA: The court awarded ten years’ rigorous imprisonment to an accused for biting a woman’s breast and inflicting injuries during a sexual abuse attempt. Alappuzha additional district sessions court awarded rigorous imprisonment to Najmal, a native of Punnapra in the district. The court also ordered to give the amount to the victim.

The incident happened in April 2011. The accused barged into the house of the victim, a native of Alappuzha and tried to abuse her sexually. When she resisted the attempt, he bit the woman’s breast causing injuries. The woman sustained head injuries also. Najmal is an accused in many cases including murder.
