KOCHI: A trial court in Kochi is considering actor Dilee’s plea seeking exclusion from the list of accused in the actress attack case. The argument is heard in a closed room for the privacy of the actress.
The defendant's initial argument over the charge sheet is progressing. Prosecution's argument has already been completed. Accused including Dileep had examined the visuals of attacking the actress with the permission of the court. Apart from Dileep, Sunil Kumar, Martin Antony, Manikandan, Vijeesh and Sanal Kumar were permitted to examine the clippings in the presence of the prosecution. Dileep is the eighth accused in the case.
Meantime, Justice Hema Commission entrusted to study the problems faced by the women of film industry will submit a report today. The report will be submitted to the chief minister. It has been reported that keeping actresses away from films for responding to labour problems is a disgrace to art.
This is the first time such a commission has been set up in the country. A commission was appointed soon after the actress was attacked in Kochi. Women n Cinema Collective, an organisation of women’s artistes’ main demand was this. Apart from Justice Hema, actress Sarada and K B Valsala Kumari are the other members of the commission.
