BJP leader K Surendran has courted controversies many times on various issues. Whether it is beef ban, Sabarimala issue or CAA, he has had his own stand in each issue.
Now in a talk given to Kaumudy TV’s Straight-line programme, Surendran has come down heavily on film personalities who had protested against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and taken out rallies against the Citizenship Rights bill.
“People are very angry with film personalities. When we say cinema persons, don’t think that they are big ‘mountains’.
They are also people living in society. They have a feeling that they are super humans and they don’t need sense of place. Without understanding facts, they have become the puppets of political parties.
They can drum us… They can also drum Modi… even hurl abuse at Modi’s father and speak bad words about him. And if anyone says anything against cinema personalities, they will soon turn cultural netas.
Cinema people or politicians, whoever it be, there will be answer if there is a question...”
