MALAPPURAM: As part of the first phase of K-FONE (Kerala Fibre Optic Network) project that facilitates the availability of high speed internet, 10000 free connections will be given within three months.
The free connection will be given to the government offices, educational institutes and hospitals where network that connects districts pass through.
With the installation of fibre network in December, about 30,000 government offices will come under high speed internet.
Internet will become available to 20 lakh BPL families for free and to others at low charges.
Service providers will be chosen within six months.
