THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Though the state cabinet is considering to withdraw the practice of dry day in the state, there won't be an immediate action regarding this, excise minister TP Ramakrishnan said. Earlier, there were some reports which stated that the government is planning to withdraw the dry day rule for the 1st of every month.
The plan to keep liquor outlets open on the first day of every month was proposed by the excise ministry following the demand from several organisations in the tourism sector. However, the minister said that the government will not take an immediate decision regarding this. He added that discussions will be held at various levels before coming to a conclusion. It must be noted that the new liquor policy will be announced in the month of March.
