Tamil actor Surya enjoys an enormous fanbase in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. He is also known for his social commitment as he provides financial assistance to farmers as well as economically backward students. Surya, who started the Agaram Foundation that takes care of the education of underprivileged kids, recently attended a book launch function on behalf of his foundation.

The function was attended by several prominent personalities including Tamil Nadu Education minister. During the function, a girl named Gayathri shared her success story which turned the actor emotional. Gayathri's story was so moving that Surya couldn't control his tears and went on to applaud her.

"My father died because of cancer. My mother takes care of the family by doing labour works. After my father's death, my studies got interrupted due to financial troubles. That is when I approached Agaram Foundation as I wanted to learn English. Today, I am a teacher," Gayathri said.

During his speech, Suriya heaped praise on Gayathri and stated that she is an inspiration to everyone. The video footage of the event is going viral on social media.
