KOZHIKODE: Youth League has dropped its decision to build black wall, in protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act, on the day of the arrival of Home Minister Amit Shah in Kerala.
The leaders’ meeting of Muslim League held in Kozhikode had conveyed its decision in this regard to the Youth League. “Amit Shah is coming here to attend his party programme. We decided, in consultation with the Youth League, not to hold protest on that day but protests could be organised in other days. We had made a request for this to the Youth League leaders,” League leaders P K Kunhalikutty, Sayyid Haidarali Shihab Thangal and E T Muhammad Basheer told media persons.
On Monday morning, Youth League leader P K Feroz had announced that Black Wall of protest would be built on the day when Amit Shah visited Kerala.
The idea was to line up black dress-clad women and children on either side of the road through which Amit Shah’s cavalcade would pass through.
The wall was supposed to have been built from Karipoor airport to West Hill helipad spanning 35 km. P K Feroz had also claimed that about one lakh protesters would be taking part in the black wall.
