KOLLAM: Kottiyam Police recently busted a prostitution racket at Kottiyam that was running a virtual brothel under the pretext of ‘homely food’ - a restaurant serving homely meals.

The arrested persons are hotel owner and Eravipuram native Anas (33), Valathungal native Unni (28), Adhichanallur native Anathu (24), Mangadu native Vipin Raj (25), Thankassery Kothalavayal native Raju (46), Palakkad native Vinu (28), hotel owner’s wife and two women were produced in the court on Saturday night.

The gang had rented a shop at Kottiyam Sithara junction and had made arrangements for dating couples. Women were also supplied to the client salong with homely food and accommodation.

The police conducted the raid after being tipped off by locals, who grew suspicious about activities going on in the shop.
The police is only looking into chances for having used minor girls in the flesh trade.
