gulf-mans-wife

KOTTAYAM: A married man in Kottayam flew back to Gulf ten days after his marriage. And, his 19-year-old wife eloped with her ex-lover, within six months. She also carried with her ten sovereign gold ornaments she possessed after the wedding.

On the other hand, the ex-lover is an accused in a ganja case. All efforts to contact the couple have failed as their mobile phones are switched-off.

The marriage between 19 year old girl and the NRI took place six months ago. The girl virtually broke down while seeing off her husband. Even her mother-in-law had to step in to console the girl standing with tear-soaked reddened eyes.

Only the girl and her mother-in-law were staying in the house. Within a few days, her ex-lover contacted her on the phone. Soon the girl’s sadness evaporated.

The mother-in-law came to know about her daughter-in-law’s boy friend only when the neigbours gave her hints about it.

The mother-in-law didn’t believe the neighbour's words initially but finally she brought herself to ask the girl about it. And the very next day she went missing.

After unsuccessful attempts to trace her, the family members lodged a complaint with Thrikkodithanam police.

Meanwhile, the Gulf man conveyed the message that “let her and lover live happily.”

The girl’s parents have also requested the police not to to send her to their house. Following these developments, its seems the police have also lost interest in proceeding with the case.
