NEW DELHI: A nine-judge Constitution bench of the Supreme Court will begin hearing a batch of pleas on the issue of allowing women of all ages to enter Sabarimala temple, along with other contentious issues of alleged discrimination against Muslim and Parsi women.

The bench comprising CJI SA Bobde, Justices R Bhanumathi, Ashok Bhushan, L Nageshwara Rao, MM Shatanagoudar, S Abdul Nazeer, R Subash Reddy, BR Gavai and Surya Kant will start hearing the case by 10.30 am.

On November 14, a five-judge bench of the apex court had referred the matter to the larger bench while examining the review petitions filed against the controversial verdict that allowed entry of women to the temple.
