A chunk of students from Jamia Millia and JNU were in the news for waging strong protests against fee hike in hostels and Citizenship Rights Amendment Act respectively. They had also won the patting and support of political leaders from Opposition parties.
Recently, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan met JNU students in person and expressed his solidarity for their protests. But now, former minister and RSP leader Shibu Baby John has come out with a poser to the chief minister on his Facebook page.
FB post:
How can the approach towards JNU and Jamia Millia be different?
“We have come to know through media that during his recent visit to Delhi, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan met JNU students in person. In the same city, students from Jamia Millia had also gone to meet him but they were denied permission for the meeting.
JNU students were holding strikes for issues including hostel fee hike but the Jamia Millia students had unleashed protests against CAA.
When this is the fact and circumstance, why did the chief minister refuse to meet Jamia Millia students? He should explain the reasons for this to the general public.
