NEW DELHI: Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan locking horns with the government reiterated that he is the head of the state. He stuck to his earlier statement that there is nothing wrong in the government approaching the Supreme Court against CAA. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had yesterday stated that the Governor is not above the state government and those who don’t know such things should read the constitution.
The Governor had earlier asserted that the government has the right to approach the Supreme Court but why didn’t they inform me, who is the constitutional head of the State? I came to know about it only through newspapers.
The governor had harshly criticised the government over ward delimitation and resolution against Citizenship Rights Amendment Act. The chief minister came down heavily on the governor indirectly stating that it would be good if the latter understands that there are no residents over the state government.
