THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala police will soon make a technical advancement that will enable it to prevent theft attempts and other crimes within a short span of just 7 seconds. The Centralised Intrusion Monitoring System (CIMS) developed by Keltron will be soon installed in the state thereby providing foolproof security to institutions such as banks, jewelry showrooms etc.
Once CIMS comes into effect, CCTV cameras and sensors will be installed in the institutions and the video footage will be monitored from the police control rooms. In case of an unexpected incident at one such institution, the control rooms will receive an alert within seconds and this will be immediately informed at the nearest police station. The stations will also receive information such as route maps to the institution and time required to reach there. This will also help the police to register an FIR immediately.
This will be the first time a state police force will be using such a technology in the country.
