A few youths who came to take part in the recent human chain formed to protest against the Citizenship Rights Amendment Act had a bad experience from fellow comrades. The only mistake they did was that they took part in the chain wearing saffron dhoti.

The others in the chain grew suspicious about them as usually comrades wear only red or white dhoti. Also they thought that they might be some Sanghi troublemakers who would have sneaked into the human chain to spoil its sanctity. If such things happen, it is quite natural that the blood of comdrades will boil, that too in Alappuzha famous for Communist revolts.

The incident happened at Harippad, where the guys from some faraway place had gone to attend the human chain. The comrades who came to heckle them might not have been aware of the party’s lampooning of Modi’s remark that protestors could be identified by their dresses.

The comrades became worried as they had not seen the ‘kavi’ clad guys in that area before. They had also not seen them in party meetings or rallies. They tried to get details about their family and political background. The cold response of the guys irked the comrades and led to a light tussle between the two parties.

In between, a guy called up the leader who had sent them. Slowly, the cloud of doubts began to blow over after both parties made a number of calls to prove their sides. The comrades appointed a panchayat president to investigate into the matter.
Finally, the guys were able to prove that though they wore kavi dhoti, they chanted slogans out of their extreme adoration for Red Flag. Late,r they left the spot only after they stood shoulder to shoulder, sang revolutionary songs and shouted pro-Left slogans.
