THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The condition of India’s first coronavirus-affected girl hailing from Thrissur has improved. She was shifted to Thrissur Medical College Friday morning and is now treated in an isolated ward. The health minister KK Shailaja said there was no need to panic as the state had started precautions and preparation since the start of the virus outbreak.

1471 people in the state are under observation. Of these, 50 are in hospitals. The highest number of people under observation is in Kozhikode-214. 205 are under observation in Malappuram and 195 people are under observation in Ernakulam at their residences. In the Thrissur, where a case of corona was confirmed, 125 are under observation. No new cases of the corona infection were confirmed in Kerala, the health minister stated. Out of the 24 samples sent for a lab test, 18 have returned as negative. Another 15 samples have been sent for testing. Isolation wards have been set in hospitals across the state. An awareness program will be conducted in schools, Minister Shailaja said.

The police have found three persons spreading fake facts on the coronavirus infection. The health minister said that strict action will be taken against such people.
