New Delhi: An Andhra woman who is stuck in Wuhan following the outbreak of the coronoavirus has requested the central government to take steps to bring her home to India. She was supposed to have been on the Air India flight that evacuated Indians from Wuhan, but was excluded because she was running a fever, the woman clarified. Jyothi, a native of Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh, who is due to get married this month, made her plea over a video call.
"Yesterday, me along with my colleagues - 58 members - were supposed to take the first flight, but I couldn’t take it along with one of my colleagues because we had high body temperatures... and we were asked to stop and not to take the flight. They said that we can take the next flight. But today, at afternoon, they called and said that we are not even allowed to take a flight because of yesterday’s body check and the high temperature.”
“In our entire batch, only we two people are left behind. The Chinese people didn’t assure or deny that we are having any virus. We are ready to prove that we don’t have any virus…because we don’t have any symptoms. Just a raise in our body temp which was not that high…37.5 degrees…maybe due to some physical activity or strain. The temperature is now stable. We request our government to take us back to India…We are ready to prove that we are safe and healthy.” Jyothi says in the video.
