MALAPPURAM: An elderly couple was found stabbed to death in their home near Kootilangadi in Malappuram district. The deceased have been identified as Krishnan (75) and his wfe Ammini (65). Though initial reports suggest that Krishnan might have killed himself after murdering Ammini, police are waiting for the autopsy reports for further details.

It was a relative who initially discovered the dead bodies of the couple. While Ammini's body was found in the hall with her neck severed, Krishnan's body was found outside the house. Police have also found a sickle knife lying near Krishnan's body. Sources said that Krishnan is known to be a short-tempered man and this might have caused a quarrel between the two. The dead bodies are currently kept at the Manjeri Medical College Hospital for autopsy. The couple is survived by two sons and three daughters.
