travellers-from-china

KOCHI: Despite strict warnings issued by the State health department, travelers from China are heading towards Fort Kochi. The hoteliers in and around Fort Kochi say that though they had informed the police and the health department about this, there has been no action from their part.

Even when people are closely watched in the wake of Coronavirus cases being reported from Kerala, the travelers are going out of their rooms. Since no instructions are given to hotel staff, they don’t know what to tell the travellers.

Meanwhile, Kerala government had on Monday declared Coronavirus as State calamity after three were found to be infected with the virus.

The three students were the medical students who had returned from China. They were classmates in their college in Wuhan and reached India together.

They are the natives of Kasargod, Alappuzha and Thrissur. 82 people who had come into direct contact with these three have been identified. Among them, 40 are under observation in Thrissur and 42 are under observation other districts.

None of the persons admitted to hospitals are in serious condition but State Health Minister Shailaja said more people might get infected by the virus.
