NEW DELHI: As Delhi is geared up for the upcoming Assembly election on February 8, a pre-poll survey conducted by Times of India predicted that the ruling Aam Aadmi Party will record a win by securing 54 to 60 seats. While the BJP is expected to win 10-14 seats of the total 70 seats, Congress is expected to win a maximum of only 2 seats.
According to the survey, the AAP's vote share will be 54 per cent while BJP will get 34 per cent of the total votes. If compared to the election results of 2015, AAP's vote share will reduce by 2.5 per cent while BJP will experience an increase in vote share by 1.7 per cent.
What is even more interesting about the survey is that it suggests that the BJP would manage to win in all the 7 Lok Sabha constituencies of the national capital even if the Lok Sabha elections are conducted now. The survey states that almost 75 per cent of Delhites want Narendra Modi to continue as the country's Prime Minister.
Regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act introduced by the Central government, 71 per cent of Delhites believe that the government has taken the right decision by introducing it.
