ebrahim-kunju

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau on Saturday interrogated former PWD minister VK Ebrahim Kunju in connection with the Palarivattom flyover scam. The interrogation, which took place at the Vigilance office in Poojapura, lasted for around three hours.

The questions were based on the findings made by the Vigilance so far. The major allegation against the former minister was that he had a definite role in allowing the mobilisation fund of Rs 8.25 crore to the contractor RDX and allowing a reduced interest. While rejecting the claims made by arrested former PWD secretary T O Sooraj, Ebrahim Kunju stated that the decision to hand over the money to the company was taken after considering the opinions of several govt officials.

The former minister was questioned by the VACB after obtaining permission from the state government. It is learnt that Ebrahim Kunju might be summoned once again for questioning after verifying various statements and pieces of evidence.
