KOCHI: The music concert organised in Kochi to raise money for Kerala flood relief has been filled with controversies. The arguments on it came to light after the money collected for the relief fund was not found handed over to the government even after months. This was first voiced by Yuva Morcha leader Sandeep G Varier through a Facebook post. Organisers including Rima Kallingal criticised the BJP leader without giving a reply. When the RTI query emerged that the Kochi Musical Foundation had not forwarded any money to the government, the organizers came forward with many excuses.

The organisers tried to defend themselves saying the programme was not successful as they expected and that they spent money from their hands. When asked how the programme was not a hit as the stadium was overcrowded, they paid Rs 6,22,000 and saved their faces. Meantime, the collector rejected organisers claim that he was the patron of the event. As per the complaint of Sandeep Varier, the collector has ordered a police probe.
