Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan condoled the death of M S Mani, chief editor of Kalakaumudi daily and former Kerala Kaumudi chief editor, who passed away Tuesday early morning. As chief editor of Kerala Kaumudi and Kala Kaumudi, he had made invaluable contributions to the media and the society.

‘M S Mani was able to take a strong stand on many issues raised in the political and social circles of Kerala. He also tried to maintain a warm and loving relationship with everyone at times of disagreement. Under the leadership of Kala Kaumudi, he always involved in developing a new generation in the field of literature,’ the chief minister mentioned in his Facebook post.

Mani's contribution in moulding many journalists is also great. Bereaving his death, the chief minister also joined his family and colleagues in mourning.

M S Mani was recently honoured with the 2018 Swadeshabhimani-Kesari award, the highest media honour of the state government for his active involvement as a senior in the media sector.
