THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The vigilance special cell on Tuesday submitted an FIR against former minister VS Sivakumar in a disproportionate assets case. The FIR, which was submitted at the Vigilance court, names the former minister as the first accused.
The other accused in the case are M Rajendran, Adv MS Harikumar and temporary personal staff Shaiju Haran.
It is learnt that the former minister has been accused of accumulating assets with Rajendran acting as his benami. The FIR also states that the other accused had helped Sivakumar in this process.
Earlier, the special cell had conducted a probe against 7 persons including Sivakumar following which they stated that they have collected ample evidence against the four accused.
The probe against the former minister was initiated following a complaint obtained from Vazhuthacad native R Venugopal. In his complaint, Venugopal had accused Sivakumar of accumulating disproportionate wealth during his tenure as Health Minister.
