KANNUR: Saranaya (23) arrested in the case of killing her one-and-a half-year old son and who is in police custody received 17 missed calls from her lover. Meantime, when the police examined her phone, they got some evidence indicating that she committed the heinous crime to live with her paramour. Her chats with her lover, a friend of her husband turned crucial during the probe. When Saranya was pregnant, her husband Pranav had gone to the gulf for a year. Their relationship strained when he returned from the Gulf. She later got more attached to her lover. Both got close via Facebook chatting. According to police, he promised to marry her but did not insist on leaving her son. Though preliminary reports say that her lover had no involvement in the murder, he will be questioned in detail later.

Meantime, police said she killed the baby alone. Kannur circle inspector P K Satheesan said neither her husband nor her lover has any role in the murder. She took the drastic step to live with her lover. She joined others in search for the baby. Eyewitnesses told police that she was searching the place alone where she threw the baby. She was produced in the court last evening and remanded.
