KANNUR: The recent gruesome murder of a baby by smashing his head against sea wall at Thayyil in Kannur by his own mother is a case that has shocked the entire Kerala.

Unbelievably, Sharanya did this heinous crime to live with her lover, according to the police. She was active on social media. On her Facebook and Instagram accounts, she had used the photos of her child Viyan (1) spotting puckish grin as the profile pictures.

As part of the investigation, the Cyber Cell had examined Sharanya’s social media accounts and Whatsapp chats in detail. Her only worry was whether her child would be a stumbling block in her relationship with her new lover.

It was through Facebook Sharnaya had got introduced to her husband Pranav. But their families opposed their relationship as both were from different communities.

Nevertheless, Sharanya got married to Pranav as soon as she turned 18. When she became pregnant, Pranav went to Gulf for some job and returned after one year.
