KOZHIKODE: Cyanide killer Jolly, accused of killing six of her family members in Koodathai, attempted suicide in jail. She has been admitted at the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital after she attempted suicide by slitting her wrist. The incident happened early Thursday morning. Jail wardens saw her lying on the ground with her wrist slit. The authorities soon rushed her to the medical college hospital.
Her injuries are not so serious. Doctors are of the opinion that she may have inflicted injuries by pressing and rubbing on a sharp object and then by biting. There is also an indication that she may have slit her wrist using some glass pieces. The police are investigating how she got the sharp object to slit her wrist. Meantime, she told police that using her teeth she bit her wrist and then rubbed it on a tile to inflict deep injuries. After her arrest, she had shown some suicidal tendencies.
She was arrested along with two of her partners, M S Mathew and P Praji Kumar in 2019 for allegedly using cyanide to kill. The arrests were made after the forensic experts exhumed the mortal remains of the victims from their graves and conducted the post-mortem.
