THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As the government puts a hold to the financial aid, SUPPLYCO has reduced its sale of subsidized items. If the government doesn't grant the funds they owe, SUPPLYCO plans to stop subsidy at half of the outlets. Not even a single rupee was set aside for SUPPLYCO's market intervention in the state budget. Following this, there were plans to hike the price of subsidized items, but the food department didn't grant permission.

The government is yet to give Rs 300 in subsidy. SUPPLYCO used to sell 14 items at a subsidized price. The effect of financial struggle has already seen its effects at SUPPLYCO outlets as cereals and pulses under subsidy were not supplied to the majority of the outlets in the last month.
