KOLLAM: A sub inspector was taken into custody for consuming liquor in office. SI Saleem of Kollam rural district crime branch was taken into custody by Kottarakkara sub inspector Rajeev and his team as per the directive of rural SP Hari Shankar. He was taken into custody last night at 9 pm while he was on night duty. Three were found drunk.

Saleem was in a closed room when the police reached there. No proof was obtained for him consuming liquor in office. The SP received a message mentioning that he was consuming liquor in office. Saleem is a member of the police officers association. Liquor consumption was found on medical examination. Based on it, a report was handed over to the rural SP.

Rural SP Harishankar said the report will be handed over to DIG. Action has to be taken by the DIG.
