THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Dr Shimna has come out with a reply to former DGP T P Senkumar, who had criticised the doctor and justified his stand over the spread of Coronavirus.
Senkumar’s claim was that the virus would not spread in atmospheric high temperature. He said that his observation was on the basis of the report of the UNICEF and other media reports.
In his FB post, Senkumar had said that “be it cow dung or camel urine, Dr Shimna’s was not the last word in this world.
Shimna in her reply said that there was nothing in the UNICEF report that endorsed Senkumar’s claims. “Senkumar should also have referred the websites of respective organisations before making comments. Don’t think you can say anything if cow dung gets into your head. Don’t try to prove your religion and politics with human life,” Shimna had earlier commented.
Senkumar opinion was that Covid 19 would not survive above 27 degree. As Kerala temperature is 32 Degree Centigrade, it will not affect anyone.
However, doctors had come out saying that Senkumar’s observation was unscientific as it had no evidence.
“In that case, Coronavirus case should not have appeared in Singapore, which has the same climate as that of Kerala,” they added.
