Can Dettol defend Corona? How the company knew in advance that such a deadly virus could occur? There have been widespread rumours that Dettol is able to fight corona since the outbreak of it in China. The Dettol manufactured in 2019 contained the label printed 'corona virus'.

After seeing corona in the label it is being asked whether the Dettol Company was aware of the disease. However, corona was reported years ago. With the pictures circulated, manufacturers of Dettol products R B Group said it was effective against other coronavirus like MERS‐CoV, SARS-CoV. But like all manufacturers, we haven't had access to the new virus (2019-nCoV) for testing yet, so we are unable to confirm our level of effectiveness against. We are working to ensure we have the latest information on it.

The term corona means a group of viruses that occur in humans and other organisms. The company made a similar statement in February. In an online statement, the manufacturers asserted that tests have proved that Dettol can kill 99.9% of coronavirus of the same family.
