PATHANAMTHITTA: Hours after five confirmed cases of novel coronavirus were reported in Pathanamthitta, District Collector announced that all educational institutions including professional colleges in the district will remain shut for the next three days. However, the SSLC and Plus-Two examinations, that have been scheduled for Tuesday, will be conducted under high alert, the collector informed.

Meanwhile, those students who have experienced coronavirus symptoms after closely interacting with patients will not be allowed to write the exam. These students can appear for the SAY exams that will be conducted later.

On the other hand, those students haven't experienced any symptoms after interaction will be allowed to write the exam in separate classrooms within the same exam centres.

While the PTAs will be providing masks and sanitizers in government schools, private school authorities have been made responsible to provide these in their respective schools. Earlier, the district administration had informed that masks and sanitizers must be compulsorily provided in all private educational institutions. Authorities have also called off the public functions in the district.
