KOCHI: Another case of coronavirus infection has been confirmed in Kerala as a three-year-old boy from Ernakulam tested positive for the virus. The child had recently returned from Italy along with her parents. Meanwhile, reports suggest that the samples of the child's parents were also sent for tests as they are also suffering from slight fever.
According to reports, the child was suffering from fever upon reaching the airport. Following this, the boy was immediately subjected to tests. The family had returned to Kerala by Emirates flight EK513 on March 7th. The flight from Italy reached Kerala via Dubai. Authorities are trying to find out the co-passengers on the flight.
At present, the number of coronavirus infected people in the state is 6 with five people from Pathanamthitta testing positive for the virus on Sunday.
The five people who have tested positive for the virus in Pathanamthitta are undergoing treatment at the Pathanamthitta General Hospital. Among the five, three people have recently returned from Italy while two people are their relatives. The family, that reached the Cochin International Airport on February 29, had evaded health screening at the airport.
