THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As the entire state is experiencing fear over the fresh outbreak of the novel coronavirus, authorities informed that the SSLC and Higher Secondary examinations, that are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, will be conducted as per the original schedule. Denying the reports which suggested that the exams are likely to get postponed, the Director of General Education informed that around 13 lakh students will appear for their exams on Tuesday.

"Special precautionary orders have been issued to every school. There is a high alert in the Pathanamthitta district where five coronavirus cases were confirmed. Meanwhile, those students who have shown symptoms and who are kept in isolation wards will not be permitted to appear for the exams. They will be able to appear for the SAY exams that will be conducted later," the Director of General Education said.

On the other hand, those students who haven't experienced any symptoms after interaction will be allowed to write the exam in separate classrooms within the same exam centres. Authorities also informed that masks and sanitizers will be made available at the exam centres.
