THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the wake of coronavirus infection, 1116 persons have been kept under observation, 967 in houses and 149 in isolation wards across the state.

Addressing the media here, health minister KK Shailaja said the Pathanamthitta natives from Italy who are isolated after confirming COVID 19, came in contact with 270 people. Out of this, they came in close contact with 95 persons. The minister added that six people sought treatment in Pathanamthitta with corona symptoms and were admitted in isolation wards.

Shailaja said the union government has granted permission to the Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode medical colleges to conduct corona screening. She added that a request will be made to the central government for corona inspection at airports.

In Kerala, six persons have tested positive for COVID 19 and are in isolation at hospitals in Pathanamthitta and Ernakulam.
